FAULT

Whilst rendering large bitmaps Satori reports "Unknown problem detected in Satori" or "Satori has performed an illegal operation"

SOLUTION

The above errors are due to insufficient disk space being allocated to virtual memory in Windows 95 / 98 or to the paging file in Windows NT or insufficient disk space to save the resultant bitmap. Below is a table showing memory requirements for large bitmap rendering.

Refer to your operating system documentation to change the virtual memory or paging file settings.

Image Rendered *Minimum Virtual Memory Required Resultant TIF Size
Creating an A4 360 dpi canvas & saving it as an A4 360 dpi non compression 32 bit TIF 100 Mb 49 Mb
Creating an A4 720 dpi canvas & saving it as an A4 720 dpi non compression 32 bit TIF 414 Mb 195 Mb
Creating an A4 1440 dpi canvas & saving it as an A4 1440 dpi non compression 32 bit TIF 1615 Mb 783 Mb

*These figures are based on a system having 64 Mb of physical memory with no other applications running.
