Date: | 16th April 1999 |
FAULT
We have received reports from some users experiencing problems with Wacom Intuos
tablets.
These faults are exhibited as a stickiness of the pen, and slowed down brush
drawing, when using paint mode.
This fault is not present on earlier Wacom models, or on recent Calcomp tablets.
SOLUTION
There is currently no simple solution available. The problem appears to be a
conflict between the Intuos driver, a Microsoft DLL (msvcrt.dll v6.0 and above) and Satori
itself. We are currently talking to Wacom and Microsoft in an effort to fix the problem
but no timescale for the fix is available.
Replacing the Microsoft DLL with an earlier version has fixed the problem, but this
is not possible without much effort as the DLL is constantly in use by the operating
system. If you wish to try this fix, please contact support directly for instructions,
however Spaceward cannot guarantee that this fix will not affect other installed
applications, and the fix may not be applicable/possible on all systems.
